June N Jenkins -Little Black Dress Campaign

On October 1st- 4th and every Friday in October 2019, June N. Jenkins Women’s Shelter will be participating in the “Little Black Dress Campaign.” This is a domestic violence awareness campaign designed to make domestic violence unfashionable! Participants will raise awareness around the limits domestic violence can play on your resources, your options, your opportunities for employment and the work that June N. Jenkins Women’s Shelter is doing to end the cycle of domestic violence by wearing the same black dress for five consecutive working days and every Friday of the month. During this week we ask that community partners, friends, family, wear the same BLACK dress to work, play, etc. to bring awareness and prevention to the domestic violence issue and symbolize some of the struggles victims and family members in this situation may have, not only in DeRidder, but our State, and our Country.
