Housing Domestic Violence Survivors

Domestic violence is a leading cause of homelessness for survivors and their children. The need for safe and affordable housing is one of the most vital and immediate concerns for survivors of violence and abuse.

Join us for an informative webinar on September 7, 2022 at 1:00 pm. This webinar will provide property managers with information about the connection between housing and safety for survivors, best practices for responding to tenant domestic violence issues, referral information for tenants who are experiencing domestic violence, legal protections for victims, and information about LCADV’s Rapid Rehousing Project.

LCADV’s Rapid Re-Housing project will serve people fleeing domestic violence (DV) in several regions of the state. It is a trauma-informed, survivor centered project to help ensure survivors of DV have access to safe and stable housing. The RRH Project will provide assistance with housing navigation, rental assistance, security deposits, utility assistance and supportive services from domestic violence advocates.

Partnering with domestic violence organizations bring many benefits for property owners:

  • Consistent rent payments directly from our programs
  • Tenants have the support of the local domestic violence program that encourages the tenant to adhere to his/her lease agreement
  • Tenant has the resources and tools necessary to be a great neighbor and a phenomenal tenant
