Duluth Model Training for Offender Programs @ Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Training Center

The Duluth Model is an ever-evolving way of thinking about how a community works together to end domestic violence. This training is for anyone starting a batterer intervention program, who is new to men’s nonviolence group facilitation, or seasoned facilitators who would like a refresher.

Intersections of Civil, Criminal, and Administrative Proceedings: A Case Study @ Webinar

As part of the Legal Assistance for Crime Victims: An OVC Capacity Building Initiative, OVC TTAC and the National Crime Victim Law Institute are working collaboratively to expand the availability of pro bono and no-cost legal assistance for victims of crime nationally.  Part of that collaboration includes developing and delivering a series of webinar trainings.

This training will focus on the different justice systems that a human trafficking victim may be involved in and how to best serve victims who may be navigating various systems.

The LPOR Legal Seminar will:

  • Explain how the protective order registry works.
  • Explain the appropriate use of the mandatory order forms.
  • Identify and discuss state and federal statutes related to court protections for those affected by domestic abuse and dating violence.
  • Disseminate the updated v.7 version of the Guide to the LPOR, the standardized forms, and the related interactive software.
