Join us for a half-day training that will take you inside the mind of a domestic violence offender and provide useful and effective interviewing techniques.

Domestic violence experts with decades of experience interacting with violent offenders will address:

- Advanced domestic violence dynamics
- Batterer tactics and characteristics
- Predominant aggressor determination
- Investigative interview techniques
- Crawford v. Washington implications
- Technology use by batterers

A bit about Dr. Salgado: In  addition to his teaching experience at Our Lady of Holy Cross, he has
had diverse experiences as a counselor at an elementary school, a high school, a child and
adolescent youth ranch, a community agency, and in private practice. His research interests are in
the area of child and adolescent neglect and abuse, play therapy, child and adolescent development,
and family counseling. He has also served as an Assistant Professor of Counseling and Psychology at
Xavier University of Louisiana. Dr. Salgado currently provides mental health services to members of
the Hispanic community through his work with the Hispanic Apostolate of Catholic Charities, as well
as works with the general population in private practice

Please support services for survivors of domestic violence  by Raising A Glass For A Cause on Wednesday, October 29th from 6:00PM – 9:00PM at Southport Hall.  Tickets are available for $20 and include, wine, beer, food, music and raffle prizes!  All proceeds from this event go to support services for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking at the Metropolitan Center for Women and Children.
